A school’s reputation and success will ultimately be determined by the beliefs of its Owner, and the quality, education and enthusiasm of the Staff.
Anne Carleton, Owner
Anne Carleton, a Newburyport native, is the owner of Knoll-Edge. She founded Knoll-Edge in 1982. She carries a Master’s degree+ in her field. She has won an award for excellence in teaching and curriculum development from the JFK Library in Boston. She has also been recognized in Parents Magazine and in the Lakeshore catalog for her award-winning ideas with puppets.
Anne is the creator of children’s books that have been written for her Center. New works are added to the curriculum each year and favorites are enjoyed over and over again!
Sara Richard, Director
Sara started out her early childhood years as a three year old at Knoll-Edge Nursery School. She has come full circle and is now the Director of the center!
Sara attended Worcester State University with a degree in Psychology, as well as receiving her master’s degree in early childhood education. While in college, Sara was a 4 year Soccer player and named Captain her senior year.
Knoll-Edge has been Sara’s home for over a decade. “I feel honored to be the Director of this incredible school that gave me such a wonderful start to my education. I look forward to working and assisting parents, teachers, and children in any way I can!”
Staff
Knoll-Edge has a well-educated and enthusiastic Staff who all meet or exceed The Department of Early Education and Care requirements. Many teachers are former Knoll-Edge parents who have returned to the field of education as their own children have moved on to school. Teachers participate each year in training to enhance their skills and understanding of child development. Staff turnover is rare.
