We had a vision. A vision that incorporated an outdoor environment that created ample space to explore, run, dig in the sandbox, and use our imaginations on the train. Our vision went further than this however. We simultaneously created an environment that promoted outdoor learning. An environment that took all of our wonderful years of learning in the classroom, outdoors. We arranged this environment in the same ways we arranged our indoor classroom. Where children learn in collaboration with an adult. We offer appropriate materials so the child constantly explores, discovers, and creates meaning. We stretch the mind of the child, outdoors. We have created an outdoor space that constantly stimulated a child’s natural wonder and curiosity and on many days, we let nature be our teacher. We created a perfect balance.
